Abstract

At present, most of the fields have already adapted the technologies based on artificial intelligence. Healthcare is one of those fields that is gradually adopting intelligent medical services. These technologies are extremely efficient and convenient in the healthcare sector, but they are also vulnerable to different kinds of security threats and attacks. One of the popular approaches to tackle these risks is blockchain technology. Blockchain is an immutable and distributed ledger that helps in storing data in a chain of interconnected blocks across various nodes. Hence, it can be used to provide security to various technologies used in different sectors. This chapter surveys the role of blockchain technology in modern healthcare security. Advance technologies concerning healthcare security are discussed. It presents a framework for the use of blockchain to provide privacy to the artificial intelligence–based technologies used in healthcare. Also, different ways of preventing artificial intelligent models from any vulnerable attacks are discussed thereby protecting the data stored in it through the use of blockchain technology. Blockchain solutions to modern healthcare is highlighted too. The analysis has justified the scope and application of blockchain technology in providing security in reliable manner. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
